In station wagon body styles, they reached lengths of over 230 inches and weighed over 5,000 pounds, making them some of the heaviest cars of their time. The Bonneville name came from the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, a famous site for auto racing and land speed records, named after U.S. Army officer Benjamin Bonneville.
