The Pontiac Montana was a minivan offered by General Motors through its Pontiac brand from 1997 to 2009. Initially known as the Pontiac Trans Sport before the 1997 model year, the vehicle underwent a rebranding with the introduction of the Montana trim package in 1996. Due to the immense popularity of this specific package, the model was officially renamed as the Pontiac Montana in 1998 for the 1999 model year in the United States and in 1999 for the 2000 model year in Canada. Throughout its production run, the Pontiac Montana was also sold under badge-engineered variants by General Motors, which included the Chevrolet Venture and the Oldsmobile Silhouette in the first generation.
