Proton Juara

2001 – 2003 · Malaysia

The Proton Juara is a microvan/mini MPV designed and manufactured by Proton, a notable Malaysian automobile company, during the years 2001 to 2004. This model marked Proton's venture beyond their traditional sedan, hatchback, and coupé lines when it was introduced on July 22, 2001, signifying a new direction for the brand. Initially intended as a collaborative effort between Proton and Mitsubishi Motors for international distribution under the Mitsubishi name, the Juara failed to captivate buyers and struggled with sluggish sales performance. The name "Juara," which translates to "Champion" in Malay, was chosen for this model, perhaps as a nod to Proton's aspirations for its success in the market
