REVAi

REVAi, an Indian electric vehicle brand, established itself as a pioneer in the EV market with the launch of the REVA electric car in 2001. Founded by Chetan Maini, the brand emerged from a collaboration between the Maini Group of Bangalore and AEV LLC of California, showcasing an early commitment to sustainable automotive solutions. The original REVA was among the first mass-produced electric cars globally, emphasizing compact urban mobility. Despite its modest performance and limited range, the REVA gained significance as an eco-friendly alternative during a time when electric vehicles were scarce. This compact city car laid the groundwork for the electric vehicle movement in India and various export markets. Today, REVAi has evolved under the Mahindra Group, rebranded as Mahindra Electric. It continues to make strides in the electric vehicle industry, contributing to advancements in technology and infrastructure. Mahindra Electric’s current line-up, including models like the eVerito and the e2o Plus, reflects significant improvements in both range and comfort, echoing the brand's ongoing commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability. The company’s journey from a niche electric carmaker to a significant player in India’s growing EV market highlights its enduring legacy and adaptability.
