The Rover 400 Series and later the Rover 45 were a range of compact family cars introduced by British automaker Rover from 1990 to 2005. These models were developed through collaboration with Honda, with the initial generation based on the Honda Concerto and the later generation on the Honda Domani/Civic platform. The first Rover 400, initially known as the second-generation Rover 200 Series hatchback, was launched in 1990 as a four-door saloon with the internal codename R8.
