Sears Motor Buggy

1908 – 1912

Sears›Motor Buggy

The Sears Motor Buggy was an early American high-wheeler automobile produced by Sears, Roebuck and Co. from 1908 to 1912, making it one of the few major retail catalog companies to sell a complete motor vehicle directly to consumers by mail order. The car followed the high-wheel buggy format common to that era, designed to navigate the rough rural roads of early twentieth-century America, and was marketed primarily to farmers and small-town buyers who were already familiar with ordering goods through the Sears catalog. No distinct named generations or major variants are on record, though the model was updated incrementally across its production run before Sears exited the automobile business in 1912.
