Suzuki Vitara

1988 – present · Japan

Suzuki›Vitara

The Suzuki Vitara is a range of SUVs that have been produced by Suzuki across five generations starting from 1988. The second and third generations were named Suzuki Grand Vitara, while the fourth generation dropped the "Grand" prefix. In Japan and several other markets, the vehicles were known as the Suzuki Escudo. The name "Vitara" was chosen because it is derived from the Latin word vita, which translates to vitality in English. On the other hand, "Escudo," predominantly used in the Japanese Domestic Market, refers to the former currency of Portugal before the introduction of the Euro. The Suzuki Vitara has evolved through the generations with design and feature enhancements. Each generation brought about improvements and changes to keep up with the demands

Also sold as the Chevrolet Vitara, Mazda Levante, Mazda Proceed Levante, Suzuki Escudo and Suzuki SidekickSame car, different badge. Posts tagged to either name show here.
