The Toyota Corolla E80, produced from 1983 to 1987, was the fifth generation of Corolla cars by Toyota. Approximately 3.3 million units were manufactured with most models featuring a front-wheel-drive layout. The AE85 and AE86 Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno maintained rear-wheel drive, offering continuity from the previous generation. The three-door "liftback", three-door van, and five-door wagon models were also carried over from the E70 generation. Among these, the AE86 gained recognition internationally in drifting and achieved popularity in various racing categories including Showroom Stock, Group A, Group N, Rally, and Club racing.
