The Toyota Verossa is a mid-size sedan specifically designed for the Japanese market. It was introduced in June 2001 and was available exclusively at Netz Store locations as a smaller companion to the Aristo. The Verossa surpassed Japanese government regulations in terms of external dimensions and engine displacement, providing buyers with a rear-wheel drive platform that differentiated it from the front-wheel drive 2001-2006 Camry. One notable feature of the Verossa was its ability to offer four-wheel drive, a feature that was not available in the Camry.
The Verossa was positioned as a successor to the Chaser and Cresta models which were phased out in 2000. It combined the sporting elements of the Chaser with the luxurious characteristics of the Crest
