The Triumph Acclaim was a compact family saloon/sedan produced by British Leyland from 1981 to 1984. It marked the collaboration between British Leyland (later Rover Group) and Honda, resulting in the first European-manufactured Japanese-designed car within the European Economic Community. This partnership helped BL overcome Japan's market share restrictions and introduced high build quality and reliability from the outset. As the final model under the Triumph brand, the Acclaim was a significant turning point for BL.
