Vauxhall Tigra A

1994 – 2001

The Opel Tigra is a versatile car model with two iterations based on the Corsa supermini platform. The first Tigra, produced between 1994 and 2000, was a small 2+2 coupé that stemmed from the Tigra coupé concept showcased at the 1993 Frankfurt Motor Show. The later model, introduced in May 2004, transformed into a compact hard-topped convertible roadster. Some key points about the Opel Tigra include its dual nature as a sporty coupé and a convertible roadster that catered to different preferences in the automotive market. The first Tigra was built in Spain, while the later model was produced in France. The Tigra was marketed under different names in various regions, known as the Vauxhall Tigra in the United Kingdom, the Holden Tigra in Australia, and the Chevrolet Tigra in select Latin American countries. The Tigra A (1994–2000) model inherited design inspirations from the Tigra concept car showcased with an open-top Tigra Roadster concept and the Scamp off-roader/pickup at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Its compact size made it appealing to drivers seeking a nimble and stylish vehicle. Overall, the Opel Tigra line captured different segments of the automotive market through its sporty design, compact dimensions, and adaptability as both a coupé and a convertible roadster, catering to a wide range of driver preferences and needs.
