This car is significant as it is the first Volkswagen small family car predominantly designed in collaboration with its Chinese partner. In 2010, the Lavida achieved exceptional sales success in China, emerging as the best-selling car in the country, with an impressive delivery figure of 251,615 units. Utilizing the Volkswagen Group PQ34 platform (PQ34L), the Lavida competes in the market with a similar model produced under FAW-Volkswagen, known as the Bora.
