The ZAZ Zaporozhets was a renowned series of rear-wheel-drive superminis designed and manufactured at the ZAZ factory in Soviet Ukraine from 1958 to 1994. These compact cars featured air-cooled engines in the rear and were initially classified as city cars. The range of Zaporozhets models included various iterations, all sharing the distinct rear-engine layout. In the late 1980s, the final ZAZ-968M models were succeeded by the ZAZ-1102 Tavria hatchback. The Tavria marked a significant departure from its predecessors, boasting front-wheel drive and a more potent water-cooled engine configuration. The name "Zaporozhets" has historical significance, translating
