ZAZ, or Zaporizhzhia Automobile Building Plant, is the primary automobile manufacturer in Ukraine, situated in the city of Zaporizhzhia. Apart from cars, the plant is also involved in producing buses and trucks and is recognized for its previous ownership under the name AvtoZAZ. The roots of the plant date back to 1863, with the founding of the company that eventually evolved into the Melitopol Motor Plant (MeMZ) in 1908. In 1923, the plant, formerly known as the Abram Koop plant, was rebranded as the Communar.
