Longford Circuit

Name: Longford Circuit
Address: Longford, Tasmania, Australia

By @drivesomehq · Longford, Tasmania, Australia · Racetrack

Longford was a 7.2 km circuit on public roads and bridges outside Launceston in Tasmania, raced from 1953 until 1968. It hosted the Australian Grand Prix in 1959 and 1965 and was a fixture of the Tasman Series, drawing Brabham, Clark, Hill and Stewart. Its long straights, including the Flying Mile, made it the fastest circuit in the country, and safety concerns ended racing there after 1968.
