Pikes Peak International Raceway

This one-mile D-shaped asphalt oval in Fountain, Colorado opened in 1997 on the former site of the Pikes Peak Meadows horse track and quickly became known as the fastest one-mile paved oval in the country. It hosted IndyCar and NASCAR Busch and Truck Series races until 2005, after which it was sold and closed to sanctioned professional racing, continuing since as a home for grassroots and amateur motorsports. The facility has announced 2026 as its final racing season ahead of planned redevelopment.
