The AC Cobra, known as the Shelby Cobra in the United States, is a renowned sports car created by British brand AC Cars. Featuring a powerful Ford V8 engine, the AC Cobra was first introduced in 1962 and has been produced on and off in the UK and later in the US. Prior to the development of the Cobra, AC Cars had been utilizing the Bristol straight-6 engine in their cars, such as the AC Ace two-seater roadster.
The AC Cobra's predecessor, the Ace, showcased a hand-built design incorporating a steel tube frame and aluminium body panels crafted with English wheeling machines. However, the Ace's performance was limited by its outdated BMW-designed engine from before World War II. This led to AC Cars seeking
