The SZ, standing for Sprint Zagato, is a lightweight coupe bodied by Zagato on the shortened Giulietta platform, using a higher-output version of the twin-cam 1290cc engine producing 101 hp and 113 Nm to emphasize performance over the standard Sprint. Its aerodynamic, truncated Kamm-tail bodywork and reduced weight gave it a distinct motorsport-oriented character, and the 101-series SZ featured a cleaner roofline compared to the earlier round-tail SZ variant.
