AMC, or the American Motors Corporation, is an iconic automotive brand that has made its mark in the industry. Founded in 1954 by George W. Romney and Richard E. Cross, this brand quickly gained recognition for its innovative designs and quality craftsmanship. Romney and Cross aimed to offer American consumers a refreshing alternative to the 'Big Three' automakers dominating the market at that time. They wanted to introduce affordable vehicles without sacrificing style or performance – a promise they delivered on. AMC's first car, introduced in 1954, was named the Nash Rambler. This compact vehicle captured attention with its modern design and impressive fuel efficiency – qualities highly sought after during those post-war years. However, it was AMC's most popular model that truly propelled them into success: The AMC Gremlin. Launched in 1970 as a response to rising demand for compact cars due to soaring gas prices caused by international crises, this quirky little hatchback became an instant hit among young drivers seeking affordability without compromising fun behind the wheel.
