Aston Martin DBS Series 2

2007 – 2012

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is a high-performance grand touring car launched by Aston Martin in 2018. It serves as the successor to the Vanquish and is built upon the DB11 V12 platform with distinct modifications. The name DBS pays homage to previous models produced between 1967 and 1972 and the DB9-based DBS V12 from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, the usage of the Superleggera name is a nod to Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, the famed Italian coachbuilder that collaborated with Aston Martin in creating lightweight grand tourers during the 1960s and 1970s. Key Points: 1. Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is a grand touring car introduced in 2018. 2. It succeeds the Vanquish and is based on the DB11 V12 architecture with unique enhancements. 3. The DBS name has historical significance from earlier Aston Martin models, while Superleggera references the lightweight design philosophy of Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. 4. The car combines luxury and high performance, offering a premium driving experience. 5. Aston Martin's meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship are evident in the design and engineering of the DBS Superleggera.
