The Austin Maestro was a five-door hatchback small family car introduced by British Leyland in November 1982 as a replacement for the Austin Maxi and Allegro models, with a van derivative also produced. Production continued under Rover Group until December 1994, with a total of 605,000 units sold. The car was manufactured at the former Morris plant in Oxford, also known as Cowley.
