1975 – 1984 · Greece

Autokinitoviomihania Ellados, more commonly known as AVE, is a distinguished name in the automotive industry, originating from Greece. Founded in the early 1970s by brothers Dimitris and Giannis Katsaros, AVE embarked on an ambitious journey to put Greece on the automotive map. Their first car, the AVE 1100, was introduced in 1973. It was designed as a compact city car, which became popular for its practicality and affordability in the Greek market. Throughout the decades, AVE continued to innovate, although it often faced financial challenges and stiff competition from larger European car manufacturers. The company's commitment to engineering and design allowed them to remain a significant player in the local market, despite these hurdles. Today, AVE's recent endeavors reflect a renewed focus on electric mobility, aligning with global trends towards sustainability. Their latest models emphasize energy efficiency and innovative design, aiming to cater to environmentally conscious consumers. While AVE's market share is not as large as some of its competitors, its dedication to sustainable vehicle solutions marks a promising chapter in its ongoing story of resilience and adaptation. This pivot not only honors their legacy but also underscores their adaptability in the face of an evolving automotive landscape.
