The BAW BJ212, also known as Beijing 212 or BAW BJ2020, is a versatile four-wheel drive offroad utility vehicle initially powered by a 2.4 L four-cylinder gas engine that later included diesel engine options in the 2000s. Originally designed in 1965, it was influenced by Russian off-roaders from UAZ and possibly developed jointly with the UAZ-469. It was known as BJ212 until 1989 when Chinese car classification changed it to the BJ2020 series. The BJ212 succeeded the BJ210 model and Tianjin's First Auto Works took over manufacturing the BJ210 under the name TJ210 C, continuing its production alongside the BJ212.
