Founded by retired racing driver Erich Bitter, Erich Bitter Automobil GmbH (Bitter) is a premium sports-luxury automobile marque originating from Germany and later Austria. Bitter began his automotive journey after previous collaborations with Italian automaker Intermeccanica. With a specialty in rebodying vehicles from other manufacturers, Bitter's production spanned from 1973 to 1989, with successful sales across Europe and the United States. One of Bitter's notable creations during this period was the Bitter CD, a distinctive three-door hatchback coupe.
