The 518d represents the entry point of the F10 diesel range, powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel producing 150 hp and 360 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox. It reaches 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds, making it the slowest variant in the lineup but offering the strongest case for fuel economy among the sedan diesels. Introduced for the 2013 refresh, it targeted company-car buyers and fuel-conscious owners who prioritised running costs over outright performance.
