Bucciali

Bucciali, a storied marque in automotive history, was established by brothers Angelo and Paul-Albert Bucciali. Their ingenuity shone early on in the 1920s, beginning with the creation of the Bucciali TAV, an abbreviation standing for "Traction Avant" (front-wheel drive). This revolutionary approach set them apart, as it was among the first implementations of FWD in passenger cars, heralding a new era in vehicle dynamics and control. The Bucciali brothers were not just innovative in mechanics; their designs were equally avant-garde. The most iconic among these, the Bucciali TAV-12, introduced in the early 1930s, featured a striking Voisin body that exuded luxury and aerodynamic efficiency. It was powered by a V12 engine, making it both a technological marvel and a symbol of prestige. Despite these groundbreaking advancements, Bucciali struggled with commercial success, largely due to the Great Depression's economic strains and the niche appeal of their high-cost, luxurious cars. Today, Bucciali's legacy is not marked by volume or current production but by its pioneering contributions to automotive design and technology. Their vehicles, now coveted collector's items, continue to be celebrated at prestigious events, embodying the spirit of innovation and the audacity of early 20th-century automotive engineering.
