Buckler Cars, established by Derek Buckler in 1947 in Reading, Berkshire, quickly carved a niche in the automotive world with its innovative spaceframe chassis. The brand’s original models, such as the Mark V, combined versatility with performance, catering to both road use and competitive racing. Buckler's vehicles were particularly known for their quality and could be customized extensively, supplied either fully assembled or as kits for home building. However, despite early successes and a foray into the burgeoning go-kart market, the company's popularity dwindled in the late 1950s. After Derek Buckler sold the business in 1962 due to health issues, the company struggled under new ownership and ceased operations in 1965. Today, Buckler's pioneering approach to car manufacturing, especially in kit cars, remains noteworthy in automotive history.
