The Chrysler LeBaron, also known as the Imperial LeBaron, is a historic line of automobiles manufactured by Chrysler. Initially introduced in 1931 with a body made by LeBaron, it was a luxurious model competing with other high-end cars of the time, such as Lincoln and Packard. Chrysler acquired LeBaron and its parent company, Briggs Manufacturing Company, leading to the launch of the Imperial brand in 1955. The Imperial LeBaron name was used until 1975 when Chrysler reintroduced the Chrysler LeBaron, which became the company's lowest-priced model. Over the years, the LeBaron name was applied to five different cars by the Chrysler Division: 1. 1977–1981 M-body LeBaron: Available as sedan, coupe, and wagon 2. 1982–1988 K-body LeBaron: Offered in sedan, coupe, convertible, and wagon variants 3. 1985–1989 H-body LeBaron GTS: Notable for its hatchback design 4. 1987–1995 J-body LeBaron: Included coupe and convertible models 5. 1990–1994 AA-body LeBaron: Available as a sedan The production of the Chrysler LeBaron concluded in 1995, paving the way for models such as the Cirrus and Sebring to succeed it.
