Chrysler Valiant AP5

1963 – 1965

The AP5 was the second generation of the Australian Chrysler Valiant, produced from 1963 to 1965 as a direct successor to the inaugural AP6-predecessor Series AP6. Built on the same unibody platform derived from the American Valiant, the AP5 carried over the slant-six engine lineup while introducing refinements to trim, equipment levels, and local content that reflected Chrysler Australia's ongoing effort to tailor the car for Australian conditions and buyer expectations. The generation is significant in the Valiant's ten-model Australian lineage as part of the early phase when the cars remained closely tied to their North American origins, before later series like the VE and beyond pursued greater local engineering divergence.
