Citroen C4 Cactus

2014 – 2024 · France

The Citroën C4 Cactus is a unique subcompact crossover SUV produced by French automaker Citroën in Spain starting from April 2014. It was succeeded by the second generation that entered production in October 2017 until May 2020. Notably, the final months of production faced interruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being categorized as a compact SUV, the C4 Cactus is built on the PSA PF1 platform shared with the smaller Citroën C3 and DS3. One of the standout features of the C4 Cactus is its "AirBump" panels integrated into the car's sides. These panels are designed to provide protection from damage in areas like car parks, contributing to the car's distinct and quirky design. The initial inspiration for the C4 Cactus came from the Citroën Cactus Concept, which was showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, demonstrating the brand's innovative and futuristic approach to car design. The first introduction of the Citroën C4 Cactus to the public was at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. This event highlighted the car's unique design elements and innovative features, setting the tone for its production models. The C4 Cactus's combination of style, practicality, and distinct features made it a notable and popular choice in the subcompact SUV segment during its production run.
