CityEL

The CityEl, a quirky three-wheeled electric vehicle, traces its origins to Denmark where it was first introduced in 1987 under the name Mini-El by the Danish company Eltrans A/S. Despite the company's bankruptcy in 1988, it made a brief comeback in 1989 before closing down again. The production equipment eventually found a new home in Germany, where the CityEl continues to be produced, evolving over the years through different models and upgrades. Initially designed with modest capabilities, the CityEl has been re-engineered with advanced technologies over time. The latest models, such as the FactFour, boast a 4.5 kW motor powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery, capable of speeds up to 63 km/h and a range of 70 to 90 kilometers. This model represents a significant step forward in performance and efficiency, with energy consumption reduced to as little as 3.5 kWh per 100 km. Today, the CityEl is recognized not only for its distinctive single-seat design, where the driver is seated centrally and the entire top half of the vehicle lifts to allow entry, but also for its environmental friendliness and practicality in urban settings. Its lightweight design and electric propulsion make it an ideal choice for short-range city commuting. Despite its niche market, the CityEl continues to embody the spirit of innovation and sustainability, catering to a dedicated group of eco-conscious drivers.
