The Nissan Sunny, originally introduced in 1966 by Japanese automaker Nissan, was a popular automobile model produced until 2004. Notable for its longevity, the brand transitioned from Datsun to Nissan in the early 1980s to align with the company's naming conventions. While production of the Sunny ceased in Japan in 2004, the name continued to be utilized in China and GCC countries for a redesigned version of the Nissan Almera.
In North America, the later iterations of the Sunny were rebranded as the Nissan Sentra, catering to a wider market. In Mexico, the vehicle was recognized as the Nissan Tsuru, deriving its name from the Japanese term for the elegant bird species "crane."
