DR Automobiles

DR Automobiles, originally known as DR Motor Company, is an emblem of entrepreneurial spirit in the Italian automotive industry, founded by Massimo Di Risio in 2006. Positioned in Molise, Italy, this brand began its journey by rebadging cars, such as the DR5, initially based on the Chery Tiggo 3, launched at the Bologna Motor Show the same year. The company faced challenges early on, including a significant crisis in the mid-2010s that nearly jeopardized its survival. However, DR Automobiles rebounded impressively, forging pivotal alliances with Chinese manufacturers like Chery and JAC Motors. This strategic move diversified its product lineup, introducing the EVO and ICH-X brands, aimed at offering quality vehicles at competitive prices. In recent years, DR Automobiles has seen a remarkable turnaround, culminating in record-breaking sales and a burgeoning presence in the European market. By 2023, the company reported nearly 33,000 new vehicle registrations in Italy alone, securing a market share that reflects a strong consumer trust in its products. This resurgence is further bolstered by new model launches and expansion into rental and leasing services, demonstrating DR Automobiles' renewed vigor and strategic direction in the competitive automotive landscape.
