Ferrari 212 Inter

1951 – 1953

Ferrari›212 Inter

The Ferrari 212 Inter was a grand touring road car produced from 1951 to 1953, built on a development of the tubular ladder frame chassis that Ferrari used across its early road and competition models. It was powered by a Colombo-designed 2.6-liter V12 engine, and bodies were supplied by several of Italy's leading coachbuilders including Vignale, Ghia, and Pinin Farina, meaning virtually every example carried a distinct, individually crafted body. The 212 Inter served as one of Ferrari's primary road-going offerings in the early 1950s, bridging the gap between the raw competition cars and a clientele seeking a more civilized but still mechanically serious automobile. A companion model, the 212 Export, shared the same basic architecture but was tuned more aggressively for racing, and several Export examples achieved notable results in period competition including the Mille Miglia.
