Ferrari 340 America

1950 – 1952

Ferrari›340 America

The Ferrari 340 America is a front-engined grand touring and competition sports car produced by Ferrari between 1950 and 1952. It was powered by a 4.1-liter Colombo-derived V12 engine, displacing 340 cc per cylinder, which gave the model its name, and the car was built in very small numbers across a handful of individually coachbuilt examples. The 340 America was campaigned in period racing events including the Mille Miglia and Carrera Panamericana, with bodywork supplied by coachbuilders such as Vignale, Ghia, and Touring, meaning virtually no two cars were identical. Notable variants include the 340 MM, a closely related evolution developed specifically for motorsport competition that carried the lineage forward after the America's limited production concluded.
