Fiat Multipla 186

1999 – 2013

The Fiat Multipla (Type 186) was a unique six-seater car manufactured by Fiat between 1998 and 2010. Designed based on the Bravo/Brava platform, the Multipla stood out for its shorter and wider build compared to similar models in the compact MPV segment. The innovative design featured two rows of three seats arranged abreast, a departure from the standard two across front seating seen in other competing models. Despite its smaller size compared to the Bravo/Brava, the Multipla offered exceptional interior space, providing increased seating capacity and cargo volume within a compact footprint. This configuration allowed for a more social and communal seating arrangement, making the Multipla an attractive choice for larger families or those needing to transport multiple passengers comfortably. The Multipla made its debut in Italy in November 1998, signaling the start of its sales journey. Over its lifespan, the car gained a reputation for its practicality, innovative design, and unique seating layout. Despite mixed opinions on its unconventional appearance, the Fiat Multipla garnered a loyal following and maintained a presence in the market for over a decade. In summary, the Fiat Multipla was a distinctive and practical six-seater compact MPV from Fiat, offering a novel seating arrangement, increased interior space, and versatility. Its unique design, efficient use of space, and Italian flair contributed to its popularity among those seeking a family-friendly vehicle with a touch of individuality.
