The Ford Festiva is a subcompact car that was created through a collaboration between Mazda and Ford, being manufactured from 1986 to 2002. The Festiva was marketed in various regions including Japan, the Americas, and Australia. Its name was inspired by the Spanish word for "festive". Not to be confused with the Ford Fiesta, the Festiva was unique in its design and specifications, and it did not serve as a precursor to the Ford Ka, which is even smaller in size. Developed on Mazda’s DA platform and equipped with B series inline-four engines, the Festiva was part of a series of vehicles created by Mazda for Ford, targeting the Asia-Pacific market. This collaboration between the two automotive giants resulted in models like the Laser and Telstar.
