The Ford Focus is a compact car produced by Ford Motor Company starting from 1999. It was developed as part of Ford's global model strategy under the Ford 2000 plan initiated by Alexander Trotman. The goal was to create a single compact vehicle that could be sold worldwide. The original Focus was designed mainly by Ford of Europe's German and British teams. The production of the fourth generation Focus began in 2018, with manufacturing taking place in Germany and China. In early 1998, Ford's senior management decided to name the new car the "Ford Focus." This decision was made after initially planning to retain the "Escort" nameplate for their upcoming small family car range. The Ford Focus has undergone significant evolution over its various generations
