The Ford Ikon, a subcompact car manufactured by Ford from late 1999 onwards, was initially launched as the sedan counterpart to the Ford Fiesta hatchback. The model has gone through two generations of development. The first generation was constructed based on the fourth iteration of the Ford Fiesta, featuring a front design akin to its hatchback counterpart. The subsequent generation of the Ford Ikon was created from the fifth edition of the Ford Fiesta. This generation gave rise to two distinct sedan models, manufactured in India and Brazil. Notably, the Ford Ikon designation has been exclusively applied to these models in South Africa and Mexico, with variants unique to each region.
