The GAZ-24 "Volga" is a historical car model produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) from 1970 to 1985. A newer version, GAZ-24-10, was then manufactured from 1985 to 1992. The original GAZ-24 underwent significant redesign and modifications, essentially creating a new car within the existing body structure. Additionally, Belgian-assembled variants of the GAZ-24 were marketed in Western Europe under the names Scaldia-Volga M24 and M24D. The development of the GAZ-24, initially known as the M-24, was largely completed by 1966, with the production of twelve third-series prototypes for testing and approval. The official unveiling of the GAZ-24 occurred towards the end of 1967.
