The GAZ Sobol, also known as the Russian Соболь for Sable, is a series of versatile Russian light-duty trucks, vans, and minivans manufactured by the Gorky Automobile Plant starting in November 1998. Considered a minivan by GAZ, the Sobol was based on the Gazelle, falling into the class of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV -MC). GAZ modified the Gazelle by shortening its wheelbase to 2760 mm, implementing a spring independent front suspension, a pent-tire rear axle, and designing it for a lower capacity of up to 900 kg.
