Holden Premier HK/HT/HG

The Holden Premier HK, HT, and HG series spanned from 1968 to 1971, representing the top-trim expression of Holden's large car range during one of the brand's most significant eras. These generations introduced the option of Holden's 186 cubic inch six-cylinder and the potent 307 and 350 cubic inch Chevrolet-sourced V8 engines, giving buyers a genuine choice between economy and performance beneath a luxury body. The Premier was distinguished from lesser Holden variants by its richer interior appointments, including upgraded upholstery, additional chrome detailing, and more complete instrumentation, positioning it as a genuine alternative to imported European luxury for the Australian market. The HG generation, which closed out the series in 1971, also introduced the Monaro-influenced Bathurst option and represented the final evolution of this body style before the HQ's more substantial redesign arrived.
