The Acura MDX is a popular mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by Honda's luxury division, Acura, since 2000. The name MDX stands for "Multi-Dimensional" luxury. It is recognized as the second best-selling mid-size luxury SUV in the United States, following the Lexus RX. One standout feature of the MDX is its standard three-row seating configuration, a first in the luxury crossover SUV segment. It shares its platform with the Honda Pilot, but the MDX is designed to seat seven passengers, with two positions in the third row, while the Pilot is available with eight seats. The MDX was introduced on October 5, 2000, as a replacement for the U.S.-only body-on-frame
