The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is an innovative battery electric compact crossover SUV that has been in production since 2021, marking the debut of Hyundai's Ioniq sub-brand, focusing on electric vehicles. This model is the first to be built on the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), signifying Hyundai's commitment to electric vehicle technology. Unveiled globally on February 23, 2021, the Ioniq 5 draws design inspiration from the Hyundai 45 EV Concept, which was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2019. Both the concept car and the production version pay homage to the original Hyundai Pony, incorporating the Parametric Pixel design language seen in the headlights, tail lights, and wheels.
