Isotta Fraschini

Isotta Fraschini, an emblem of Italian luxury automotive history, was founded in Milan in 1900 by Cesare Isotta and the Fraschini brothers, Vincenzo, Antonio, and Oreste. The brand quickly established itself with robust engineering and luxurious craftsmanship, capturing the market with vehicles like the Tipo 8, launched in 1919. This model was celebrated for being the first car equipped with a straight-eight engine, a testament to the company's pioneering spirit in automotive design and performance. The marque's most famous model, the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A, introduced in 1924, set a new standard for luxury. Known for its powerful 7.3-litre engine, the Tipo 8A was an icon of wealth and prestige, often customized by renowned coachbuilders. This model gained international fame, particularly in the United States, where it symbolized peak luxury and exclusivity during the roaring twenties. After decades of silence following its cessation of car production in 1949, Isotta Fraschini made a stunning return to the automotive scene in 2022. The company announced the Tipo 6 LMH Strada, a hypercar that combines historical legacy with modern technology. This vehicle, designed to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans under the new hypercar rules, showcases a blend of a turbocharged V6 engine and an electric motor, delivering a total of 1,020 horsepower and demonstrating the brand's continued commitment to innovation and luxury at the highest level. This limited production model, with only 12 units planned, marks a bold resurrection for Isotta Fraschini, emphasizing its enduring appeal and illustrious heritage in the world of luxury automobiles.
