The Jensen S-V8 was introduced as the latest iteration of the Jensen car line, backed by a substantial £10 million investment from entities such as Liverpool City Council and the Department of Trade and Industry. The two-seater convertible made its debut at the 1998 British International Motor Show, with plans to produce 300 units that were to be sold at £40,000 each. However, by October 1999, it was reported that only 110 orders had been secured. Production of the Jensen S-V8 began at a new factory in Merseyside's Speke area in August 2001. Unfortunately, issues arose during manufacturing, leading to a halt in production. Only a total of 20 completed cars and 18 partially constructed
