Jiangnan Alto

1992 – 2014

The Suzuki Alto, a kei car produced by Suzuki since 1979, is currently in its ninth generation and has a rich history dating back to its introduction in 1979. Initially, the Alto started as a commercial vehicle derived from the Fronte model but eventually gained significant popularity, leading to the replacement of the Fronte name entirely by 1988. The Alto has been manufactured in various countries worldwide and has found success as a city car, with the badge being used on different models in Japan and export markets. Originally, in Japan, the Alto badge was intended for the commercial utility version of the Fronte passenger car. Over time, the Alto nameplate grew in prominence and became associated with compact, efficient vehicles suitable for urban environments.
