The Jordan Grand Prix, founded by Eddie Jordan in 1980, is a former Formula One racing team that carved a niche for itself in the motorsport world. Initially participating in Formula 3 and then advancing to Formula 3000, Eddie Jordan Racing eventually stepped up to the pinnacle of motor racing—Formula One—by 1991, making its debut with the sponsorship of 7UP. The team's early years in Formula One were marked by moderate success, and they quickly became known for their vibrant team spirit and distinctive yellow livery. Notably, 1991 was a significant year as it marked Michael Schumacher's debut in Formula One, albeit briefly, driving for Jordan before moving to Benetton. The pinnacle of Jordan's success came in 1998 when Damon Hill won the chaotic Belgian Grand Prix, securing the team's first victory, followed by their best season in 1999. That year, they finished third in the constructors' championship, bolstered by Heinz-Harald Frentzen's two wins, marking a high point in their history. However, post-1999, the team faced a gradual decline. Despite occasional podiums and a win at the 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix by Giancarlo Fisichella, the team struggled to maintain competitive performance. Financial difficulties led to the sale of the team in 2005 to the Midland Group, which rebranded it as Midland F1 Racing, marking the end of Jordan Grand Prix's independent operations. The legacy of Jordan Grand Prix lives on as it laid the groundwork for what would eventually become part of the current Aston Martin Formula One team.
