The Kia Ceed, originally known as the Kia Cee'd prior to 2018, is a compact car created by Kia Motors specifically for the European market, introduced in 2006. The development process included taking inspiration from the initials of the European Economic Community (EEC), also known as CEE in various languages. To incorporate the European aspect into the vehicle's name, the designers used the initials CEE and added ED for European Design, resulting in the name "Cee'd." However, due to the excessive usage of the letter 'E,' the final name was adjusted by replacing the last 'E' with an apostrophe, giving rise to the name "Cee'd."
