Lada is a brand of cars manufactured by AvtoVAZ, a Russian state-owned company with roots dating back to 1966. Initially assisted by Fiat, AvtoVAZ produced cars under the Zhiguli name before introducing the Lada brand in 1973. Originally targeted for overseas markets, Lada became AvtoVAZ's primary brand by the 1990s. In 2016, Renault assumed control of Lada, marking a significant shift in ownership and management. From January 2021 to May 2022, Lada was part of Renault's Lada-Dacia business unit, along with its sister brand Dacia. The integration of Lada and Dacia created a synergy between the two brands, enabling shared resources and opportunities for growth. This collaboration under the Renault umbrella aimed to enhance the market presence and offerings of both Lada and Dacia vehicles. Throughout its history, Lada has become known for its affordability, reliability, and adaptability to various market conditions. The brand has evolved over the years, staying relevant and competitive in the automotive industry. Overall, Lada's partnership with Renault and its integration with Dacia demonstrate a strategic approach to leveraging synergies and expanding market reach. The brand's legacy of producing practical and accessible vehicles continues to resonate with consumers globally.
